Help with OF and Outlook/Parallels 7 Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hey Folks!

I've been using OF for a good while and was finally finding a stride with my workflow, but am now working for a new employer, and they are a windows house. (Yes, I would like to throw stones, thank you...) They have allowed me to stick with my Macbook Pro, and they installed parallels on my machine.

The entire team lives and breathes in outlook. EVERYTHING is done there. I can't seem to make OF and Parallels interact with each other. Can anyone help me with that, please?

Also, I'm not wanting to duplicate stuff, as that's incredibly unproductive, but I'm not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions, oh great OF Ninjas?

Thanks!

tal

Hi Tal,

Try using Outlook 2011 for Mac

Works for me.

Also, this script is useful for integrating OF and Outlook

Thanks pgrayu2, do you know if that script will work of Outlook in Parallels? They are pretty adamant that I use that at this point. Thanks for your help!

Sorry Tal, if there is one I am not aware of it.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for your helpful responses. Hopefully someone else may have knowledge as to how to connect these worlds. :0)

Hi Tal,

You 'might' be able to cobble together some integration if you have the iPhone or iPad version of Omnifocus and your iOS device can also get to the same email account as outlook for windows. If so try this:

From outlook windows, forward any emails you want to turn into a task to:

send-to-omnifocus@omnigroup.com

This will cause a 'reply' email from omnifocus right back to you. From your iOS device now read the email and click on the link in the email.

This will turn it into an Omnifocus task for you with all your email details from Outlook Windows.

Again you have to have Omnifocus on iPhone or iPad and that device has to have access to the same email account you are using in Outlook windows.

Not a great deal of integration , but at least some integration.
