task won't slide? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
In the middle of a project I've added a forgotten task.

The task previous to it, that it is dependent upon, was complete last friday.

This new task doesn't seem to care about the schedules of the people assigned to it. Clicking "level tasks" does nothing and leaves it scheduled in the middle of the night.

Hints? Anyone?

Wait a sec..

Deleting the task, then re-entering it and assigning the people to it -before- adding the dependancy seems to have freed it up.

No more evidence to look at now that you've deleted the problematic task, but the next time this happens, check in the inspector to see if the task has gotten a start time assigned (most likely by dragging the task horizontally in the GANTT chart). This will show up as seen in the images below, and unless you click that button to reset the scheduling to as early as the constraints allow, it won't move as you want.
