I have intermittently been able to set up Row Numbering like:
A
1
2
3
B
1
1.1
1.2
2
C
That helps minimize 'number clutter', but I can't figure out how to replicate this setting easily and quickly. I've done it several times (globally, not manually), and wonder if there is a quick way to do it?
Most of the time you either accept the same characters as the same in each level except "Legal". Legal has the problem of having LOTS of characters in each sublevel and it is distracting.
It would be nice to be able to automatically do:
A
a
1
AA
aa
or similar to keep the numbering to a minimum number of characters.
This only comes up in larger documents where it is easy to get lost as to where you are adding or changing levels.
Many Thanks
