I'm not sure.
Can I draw own polygons with straight lines or can I use only the shapes from palettes.

If I cannot create own polygons what can be the reason ?

Omnigraffle can draw complex shapes with help of bezier.

I need sometimes polygons like a combination of small and bigger rectangles but no line where both rectangles are connected.
In OG there ist a shape on palette with only 2 lines and I can use this to create my 2 different rectangles but this way is very circumstantial.

I study the help of OG and see that I can create own shapes on base of bezier.

In OGPro you can also merge multiple shapes. Under edit -> shapes I believe. This works well if you have a shape that is an outline of multiple squares, circles, etc

also you can then make these shapes editable (same menu)
