B1: traceroute sites don't work Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi,

The traceroute services offered here
http://www.traceroute.org/#USA
do not work with beta 1. At least, the services offered through Madison and University of Southern California do not work.

This site works fine: http://www.network-tools.com/

I tried http://bs.mit.edu:8001/cgi-bin/traceroute from your list. It does not work in Safari, WebKit or OW. It does work in Firefox.

Oh, wait... in Safari if I stop it I get a partial route. If I stop it in WebKit or OW, it doesn't display. If I view the page source, it shows that it has been listing out the route, but the last stages time out.

Is the machine you're trying this on in the DMZ or do you have port forwarding configured for the ports it's using?

I did get http://bs.mit.edu:8001/cgi-bin/traceroute to work in b1, but I had to let it sit for a while--it seems to be all the timeouts at the end that take a long time:

I wish I knew what that meant.

The problem with The USC and U Wisconsin pages is that there is no submit button, and I cannot figure out how to submit the query. Neither return nor enter on my keyboard will do the trick.
