Keeping actions in inbox Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Greetings,

I am new to Omnifocus, so pardon the newbie question....

I want to keep some items in the inbox. Yet when I add an item to the inbox, it gets assigned a 'miscellaneous' context if I leave it blank. In fact when I sync with the desktop version some of the inbox items get moved as well. I am referring to single-action items.

Is there a way to change this? In other words, on the iphone, I want to create a single action item and keep it in the inbox so I can sort it later. I don't want it put into a context. Let me know!

I did see a thread that suggested this is the way it works. Confusing to me as the behavior on the desktop is different as I can keep an item in the inbox until I assign it a context.

Thanks!

Eric

The iPhone's behavior is controlled by the settings on the desktop application in this particular case. If you open the preferences on the desktop, click on the Data tab, and set the Clean Up Inbox Items preference to Both a Project and a Context, anything you put in the Inbox in either place will stay put until it has both a project and a context assigned.

Thank you - that solved it. That was driving me nuts! I appreciate your taking the time to respond.

Eric
