editing templates Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi,

I'm just wondering if I'm missing some cool template-related features :)

Two things I'd like to do are:

1) edit an existing template (other than the default one, that is)
2) update a template and apply the changes to existing documents created from it.

The first seems to be possible by manually changing the template's extension to .oo3, making changes, then changing it back to .oo3template, but that's not exactly elegant. The second isn't possible, as far as I can see.

Anything I'm missing?

thanks,

TimH

Hi TimH-

To edit a template, use the File -> Open option to open it. That will open the template file instead of creating a document from it.

You are correct about the 2nd item, it's not possible to apply a template to an existing file. It is a request we have logged though.

Thanks Derek - I should have tried the obvious things first!

Although very helpful to do this, it would be awesome if there was a more elegant solution to edit templates, other than having to go into the finder to dig it out. This is tremendously time consuming.
