How do I edit contexts? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Probably a really dumb question, but I can't figure out how to edit the existing contexts. Help??

Double-click on the context name in the sidebar.

Or right click (control-click) on the context in the left pane and click rename on the contextual menu.

Not so dumb. At least I had the same question. :-) Thanks for the answer!

Or select the context and choose "Rename" from the gear menu at the bottom of the screen.

Yes but how do you delete Context that have appeared in the Context column that covers projects and actions.
I have a whole series of Context in this drop down menu entitled:
Welcome Context of 2008-01-04 18:57:32, etc

Which I cannot delete as they do NOT appear in the Left Pane list of Contexts. I have these entries but cannot get rid of them.

Any ideas. Thanks and regards, Jack

It may be that you have the left pane set to display active contexts, in which case empty contexts won't show. Change that via the View Bar to remaining contexts and I bet you'll find them.

Thanks Craig. You were right I was only viewing the Active Contexts.

Appreciate the help. Regards, Jack

I just read through this thread and I feel like a dolt, because I just don't get it. I found *some* of the places to do the editing, like the gear menu at the bottom of the screen, the "all projects" drop down at the top of left of the screen in the view bar, and the contexts in the context column. I've right clicked on all this stuff, and I'm just not getting to edit a whole heck of a lot. I want to be able to:

1> Permanently delete contexts I don't plan on using.
2> Rename contexts that exist (that I misspelled, or whatever)

Can someone tell me, as if I were a 6 year old, how to do this?

Thanks for your help.

--David

PS> I think it's highly strange that this isn't more obvious. I would expect to find this capability in the preferences, at the very least.
