After a few days of using this sneaky peek, I am very pleased.

Stability is quite good, the javascript problem is gone, and the speed is as good as ever, if not better. I'm even inclined to say that this would qualify as a beta release if the zoom text window were functional.

I've had one crash so far, but at this point I am inclined to say that was the result of rather strange behavior I've been experiencing since updating to X.4.10 and Safari 3 beta. (Anyone else having strange experiences with 10.4.10?)

Google compatibility and speed are great. We have had positive feedback regarding Wordpress WSIWYG editor. The only problem is that it seems to be slightly heavier on the CPU during normal use than before, but I haven't quantified this.

Man, OW 5.6 final is going to be a real treat. Is there a 6.0 in the plans?

I really like 5.6 as well; CNN is the only site I've had real compatibility problems with.

This particular build has been good enough for me to test it as my default browser -- I've had a *lot* of crashes, but the restore/restart has been good enough to keep me testing this release.

I just thought I'd mention that the zoomed editor window is functional (in fact I'm using it right now), you just get at it differently: when editing in a text area, you can select "Show Zoomed Editor" from the Edit menu (keyboard shortcut Option-Command-E), or select "Zoom..." from the context menu (Control-Click or Right-Click on the text area).

That's a nice solution.

Thought i'd add here that there is now a status bar icon for the zoomed editor as well, it shows up whenever a text area has focus.

Thanks. Yes, I noticed that just this morning. There it was, an icon I had never seen before. I think I do like this implementation better, perhaps.

well, I'm sorry to say that I personaly find it totally unergonomic. I've been using these sneaky peaks for quite a while now and they're working very nice. The only thing I'm missing from the official OW build is the zoom icon at the top right corner of a text field. As an OW user I'm used to that position. Now I have to remember that it's been placed somewhere else, have to ramble around with the cursor and get to it at the bottom of the window (that status bar is getting busy isn't it?). Or learn a new keyboard shortcut. As a result, I'm not using the zoomed editor anymore :) I hope that you Omnifolks go back to the old skool up right corner [+] ;)
