Is it possible to set up an Outliner document that has sections with differing numbers of colums?

In a word: No. Columns effect the whole document. Sections are just a different view, not really different from any other row.

The way I work around this is to attach or alias another outline wherever I need a different set of columns. It's worked well for me.
