OmniGraffle beachballing on MacBook Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
When I launch OmniGraffle (4.1.2) on my MacBook Core Duo 2Gb running 10.4.8, it basically locks up. If I wait for a few minutes, it might decide to show the startup windows, but if I interact with the user interface, its off into beachball land again. The app is unusable.

I'm not running anything else that would compete for resources, and the same version runs fine on my G4 iMac.
I've tried deleting the plist. Didn't help.

Can anyone suggest a fix?

Is this the first time you have tried to run it? Try repairing the permissions through Disk Utility and the trashing the OG pref file and starting it up again ... like all apps it'll create a new, clean pref file. If that doesn't work, try re-installing it. I'm running the Pro version on a MacBook Pro 17" with 10.4.8 and haven't encountered any problems.

Also try deleting the OmniGraffle folder in the ~/Library/Application Support folder.

Other things to look for if this doesn't help are Fonts (have you installed or disabled any?), and system hacks and input managers that might conflict with the software.
