Please ensure that OO4 bullets are:

1. Visible,
2. less bright than user data.

when we edit text in a dark background view.

OO4's bullets are a welcome move towards UI deference – their gray is at a lower contrast level than full black text, forming a secondary visual layer between background and typical (black text) data.

This works well when we edit in black against a white background, but collapses if we edit against a dark background – the bullets still disappear, as they did in OO3.

As flipping between Dark and Light themes or display modes becomes more mainstream (supported by discouraging research on the effects of bright white screens, especially in the evening), UI deference in apps like OO4 needs to become consistently and thoroughly inversible.

i.e. a core design goal is that UI elements like bullets should always be in a visual layer which is:

• Visible against the background, but
• less prominent than the data.

regardless of the foreground and background colors.

As an example, the latest release of iThoughtsX, which used to have white disclosure controls on parent nodes (fine on white backgrounds, but too bright against dark backgrounds) has now implemented a consistent scheme of inversible/reversible deference.

Inversible deference (and quick switching between light and dark views) should be a basic goal of OO4, and, in fact, of all Omni's software design.

In additions, dark display views should be separable from dark printing schemes.
