I just can't figure this out. I have an object on the screen, a rectangle, and i go into the geometry pallet and attempt to change the height and/or width and it reverts back to the initial size. however i can grab the resize spots on the object and change the size that way. however, i want to enter precise dimensions so dragging is not going to cut it.

any idea why this is happening and how i can get it so i can enter the values?
