Setting up repeating projects Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi OG

I love OmniFocus desktop and iPhone. It kicks maximun ass!

How do you setup repeating projects that are based on need and not on assigned dates or completion dates. For example: Hiring an employee. Or maybe there is an efficient way to reset and reuse a completed project.

Your help is appreciated.

If I wanted a project template for hiring an employee, I'd create a new project, call it something like 'New hire:', enter all the project steps, and set the project status to inactive. When I need the project, I'd copy it, paste it, change the project name to 'New hire:<position name>', and change its status to active and assign due dates as needed.

While not necessary to do the above, I have a folder named 'Someday/Maybe' where I keep all inactive projects, including project templates.

Fellow forum denizen Curt Clifton has a great script (Populate Template Placeholders) for using templates that allow for form-letter style customization. Download it from his software page at http://www.rose-hulman.edu/~clifton/software.html
