Coalesce or rebuild database? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I've recently recovered from some snafus syncing the beta version, thanks in part to the kind souls who posted the coalesce script. What is the difference between running that script or using the program's "rebuild database" command? Is one preferred? Are both necessary?

I think...
The rebuild database command takes the data on the hard drive and rebuilds the SQL cache. It also used to coalesce the database but no longer does.
The CoalesceDatabase script (or the equivalent set of manual actions) forces a coalesce to occur.
