I just read through the features of OSX Mountain Lion, and one that jumped out at me was PowerNap: PowerNap makes your mac capable of receiving emails while shut down. Dunno if there's an API that allows 3rd party software do stuff during PowerNap, but wouldn't it be great of omnifocus could apply the usual rules to the inbox, fill the inbox with those email items and then sync those entries to OmniSync?
That would make it easier for us Windows-users-at-the-office to enjoy almost real-time OmniFocus sync without having to leave the mac running at home.
