Issue with QuickTime 7.1.6 update Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hello,
Since the last QT update (7.1.6) QT movies can't be played with OW 5.5.4 (as well as with Safari) while they seem ok with FireFox and Netscape.
Is there something special to do (other than to wait another QT update) ?
Thanks !

Josy,

I think you'll have to be a lot more specific because movies play fine here.

Also stating that its a Safari issue also means you probably have some corrupted preferences, OR an extension that is 7.1.6 incomatible.

Look in Macintosh HD/Library/QuickTime/ or your HOME/Library/QuickTime/

Maybe you have an old flip4mac, divx, etc installed that is conflicing with QuickTime

Hello thanks for the answer but I just got the solution in an Apple forum and what works for me was this :
The "correct" fix:
System Preferences/QuickTime/Advanced tab
Click the MIME Settings button and navigate to Miscellaneous - Miscellaneous file formats
Remove the check mark for Flash Media
Quit and relaunch your browser and try the Flash page again.
