We have created an OmniFocus widget that shows one action at a time. Since the code is all applescript and javascript, someone else could take a look at how we did it and use it as a starting point for creating a much more complex widget with some of the features you all mention here.

Thank you Lizard! I appreciate your taking the time to do this.

I too like the idea of having my todo in Dashboard. It's a mental "breakaway" that helps me to refocus my brain on "what to do next" rather than "what I have in front of me".

The problem with the Omnifidget widget is that it requires too much fiddling -- it's a bit tricky to change contexts, and I think it would be better if we could see all of the actions in the context instead of just one of them. I do like making some choices about which action to do next, based on energy, time available, etc. etc.

So in sum:
make context switching easier (see DoBeDo for a great example)
show entire list of context, not just one.

But thanks again for getting started on this widget. I'd really like to get iCal out of the loop.
