I'm sure I'm doing something stupid...

I'm trying to level some tasks that are assigned to an equipment resource (1 unit, 100% efficiency). I've set the resource's work schedule so that it is unavailable until April 9, but when I level the tasks they are placed starting at Mar 13. What am I doing wrong? Do equipment resources have different rules about their work schedules than people?
