Is there a menu item/script command to expand and collapse all embedded items? I have a document with lots of them, and it is a pain to have to click on them manually.

The applescript dictionary gives no access to this, unfortunately (and I can't see a keystroke either).

Expand or Collapse all buttons for the menu bar would be HUGE.
