After I do cmd-shift-I to open the inspector, is there any keystroke that will jump me to the inspector and back into the regular OF pane without taking my hands off the keyboard to mouse it?

I don't think so. That's come up a few times before. Use Help --> Send Feedback to add your request for this to the database. Maybe we'll see it in 1.7.
