Sync Multiple accounts over multiple computers Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Michael (and Pete) - we're planning on bringing perspectives to the phone; just haven't had a chance to do so yet. I have the same urge for total separation, but perspectives work pretty will once you get used to it.

(And I must confess, every once in a while, I do need to see the data in one location while at the other. When that happens, I'm glad I have it around.)

Side note to Pete: you may want to take a look at this thread about syncing via dropbox. Ken's posts contain some very important information.

You need to have two separate directories on the WebDAV server. Instead of using the default https://www.me.com/{username}/Documents you would create https://www.me.com/{username}/Documents/Home and https://www.me.com/{username}/Documents/Work folders and configure OF to use them to store the respective databases.

Has anyone had a play with Spootnik to try and achieve this?

http://www.spootnik.net/

I believe it can be used without the basecamp linkage, and sounds like it could be used to syncronize a subset of tasks...

Hi RalfM,

Yes, you can use Spootnik without Basecamp just to synchronize your OmniFocus devices. But that way it's only a WebDAV provider like MobileMe. Thus, you're not able to synchronize a subset of tasks.

You can synchronize a subset of tasks if you maintain different OmniFocus databases (e.g. everyone has his own database) and Basecamp is in the middle. Spootnik keeps everyone up to date (see http://www.spootnik.net/faces.html)
