Can I add a shadow to a shape without adding a shadow to the text inside the shape?

Can I add a shadow to a shape without adding a shadow to the text inside the shape?

If the shape has no fill color, then the text gets the shadow as well. You could give the shape the same fill color as whatever is behind it so the text had no shadow, or possibly group to objects (one with just text, the other the shape with shadow) to get the same effect.
