I cannot get by step one.

Old-format transaction file "A1695C2E-6C22-4B36-9425-59FA85F9C617:DA5930A9-B3E1-4A06-AC35-8746D94D9C0F.xml" must be upgraded before opening.

Were you running OmniFocus 1.0.3 before? It sounds like you have an old copy of your OmniFocus database already on your iDisk. Move it to another folder or rename it to something like OmniFocus-103.ofocus. Then try syncing.

I did find that there was an xml file with a file name omnifocus but a file type of omnioutliner that was being locked by sync.

I then went through and deleted it and cleared the trash so then spotlight found only the two emails in this stream with the same string.

I tried sync again and it locked on the same old format string even though the string could not be found by spotlight.

The string ends in "8746D94D9C0F.xml" and is not found on the disk - trash has been cleared.

Note - I had to reboot to clear the lock that OF set on the file in the trash before I could clear trash.

Now what?:(

Finally realized I had no old files on my computer so I looked and found an old format ofocus file up on mobileme.

Deleted that file and everything worked.

problem solved.
