OG triggers "Automatic graphics switching" Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi,

OmniGraffle triggers Automatic Graphics Switching when launched on recent Apple laptops, which turns on the discrete GPU and results in lower battery life.

Any way this can be avoided ? Does OmniGraffle benefit from using a discrete chip ?

Regards,

It's a trade-off between better graphics performance and lower energy consumption.

OmniGraffle naturally benefits from faster graphics performance, and you can simply close it if you want to reduce battery drain when you're not using it.

( Conceivable that an email to Help > Send Feedback might lead you to a setting which will run OG with slower graphics and better battery conservation, or at least to a registered vote for implementation of such an option ).
