Saving "Due" and "Flagged" perspectives Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I want the Due perspective to view by context, and I want the Flagged perspective to show only available tasks.

However, neither of these changes are saveable ("take snapshot" is greyed out)

Why is this so? I thought perspectives were all now editable. Do I have to copy these two perspectives and then only use my copies to get what I want?

In 1.7 when you change the view bar settings the current perspective is forgotten. (To see this, select the Due perspective and look at the title bar. Then change the view bar settings and watch the title bar.) This is an intentional change in the behavior to help new users distinguish between perspectives and the view bar.

What you want is to choose Perspectives → Save Windows As … → Due, and similarly for Flagged.

Cheers,

Curt

Thanks. That does the trick nicely.

This aspect of the changes to Perspectives in 1.7 still has me stumped... the Snapshot feature seems to have changed... sometimes it's available and sometimes it's not. How does it differ to the Save Windows As... menu function?
Under what circumstances should/do each of these apply?

Use Snapshot when you've changed the window size, columns, etc. Use Save Window As when you've changed the view bar settings (doing so unlinks you from the previous perspective).
