60 documents - navigation problem Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I have 60 documents.

I have a hard time going from document (last) to document #1.

Any suggestions?

There is work in progress to make handling many documents easier. No word on when it will hit the streets, but it probably wouldn't hurt to use Contact Omni to make sure they know this is an important enhancement for you.

As it so happens, OmniGraffle 1.4 for iPad has just been made available for download on the App Store, one of the new features we added is a scrubber at the bottom of the Document Browser for easier navigation from one end of the list to the other.

Depending on your location, the new update may or may not show up just yet, you may have to give it some time to propagate to the servers.

Scrubber is great, thanks! Folders would be nice, tho...

Yes folders would be!

I've just bought the product and after a couple of minutes can see the need for folders. It really needs to sort documents into projects with nested folders and organic pathways to link various page together.

Wouldn't it be great if you could create idea-webs that can link ideas, journal entries or maybe even video? You could then use omnigraffle to build educational packages, sales pitches, storyboarding... the possibilities are almost endless.

The desktop pro version can do this, you can assign actions (like "jump to other canvas" or "zoom in on rectangular area of the canvas") and even applescript scripts to shapes that can then be triggered in browse or presentation mode. I suppose it'd be a natural fit for the iPad's touch interface, but we'd have to do without the applescript. Maybe a future update will add a presentation mode and some simple button actions?

Full scriptability similar to desktop omnigraffle might be too much to ask for, but even with some simple javascript based scripting using iOS webkit, OmniGraffle would be powerful enough to make simple apps or games with. In no time flat, people would demand an iOS app export feature or something. :D That would be great, of course.
