summing rows Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hello,

When using columns , how do I sum values in a row ?

I have converted the columns to number type, with the last column defined as a total column.

I have tried grouping the columns, with and without the total column included in the group.

Searching the forum revealed nothing useful nor has a google search, so I would appreciate some help.

Many thanks,

Graham

Graham, OmniOutliner doesn't support cross-column calculations, I'm afraid, only column summaries. That is, you can set a column type to "number" and its summary to "total", and then parent rows will show the total of their children in that column, but there's no way to have one column show the sum of other columns.

Thanks Andrew,

Shame, I have used it as you describe, but it makes it difficult to export to excel.

Graham
