I don't know if Omni has any chess players on the staff, but you can take it from me that:

misrenders. The first puzzle shown - Easy - is OK, but switching to Medium or Hard, and any puzzle thereafter, leads to complete nonsense on the chess board ...

Oddly, playing online:

which would seem to be more difficult, renders perfectly - no spurious pieces shown.

No problem with Safari 4 beta; this is the only (!) instance I have come across of significant rendering differences between the browsers ...

It looks like there's a refresh problem. Bringing up page info or resizing the window fixes the problem. I'll file a bug on this!
