Is Omniplan for us? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Hi,

I work at a CD/DVD manufacturer. When I started there was no project management person or software. We started by developing a work order and work plan with Omnioutliner, however, we are now interested in seeing if a program (specifically, Omniplan) would be usable for what we are needing.

Basically, the problem is that every portion of our workflow could potentially last a different amount of time (like, say, a different burn time for a longer master) and so we're wondering if we could create a drop down menu with all of the different times instead of having to create templates for every potential tasks length.

Does this make sense?

Templates will save you time by having all the common tasks pre-listed, but there is no way to create a drop-down list for task durations.

One of the best ways to figure out if OmniPlan will work for you is to try it. If you just download the app, you can use it for small projects (less than 20 tasks) for free. You can also request a one-day license to try OmniPlan with larger projects. Free trial licenses are available from our online store.
