I do not understand why if you type a task in a context, it disappears from that context. I understand that it goes to one of the inboxes, but why is it not filed at the context at that point. Is there a way to get around this?

This happens because the Project is not set: by default, a task without project only appears in the Inbox. Once the project is set, it will appear in the appropriate context.
