Applescript time-outs in Sneaky Peek? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
All,

I'm having Apple event time-out problems with a script that worked fine yesterday (and for several months prior), my Populate Template Placeholders script.

I'm running 1.1, rev 105082. I wonder if changes to improve database coalescing at shutdown have added to the cost of single events. If so, perhaps passing many events from a script is saturating OF's ability to handle them.

Is anyone else seeing any problems?

Curt, I downloaded the latest version of your script and tried it out with 105067, 105082, 105087, 105102, and 105105. Worked fine in all cases. My template was pretty simple, so perhaps I wasn't stressing it as hard.

One thing I'll note is that I was running the script from the script editor, not invoking it from the menu bar. I have no idea whether that might be at all germane.

Thanks for the debugging efforts. The problem definitely was related to very large templates (60 plus items, representing a week's worth of course prep). It happened in Script Editor and from the Script menu.

You've probably noticed that I'm using the past tense. The problem hasn't resurfaced since I updated to 105105. I don't know if that means it's gone, or perhaps just a restart flushed OF's cache. I'll post again to this thread if I can replicate the problem.
