View Full Version : Better management of favourite perspectives?

I have about 20 custom perspectives and I find that's about as much as I can bear before the scrolling up and down becomes annoying. I would ideally like about twice that.

Would a grid work better?

I'm thinking of an optional "Home Screen" much like the device one where you can add shortcuts to your favourite projects, contexts and perspectives.

That would provide quite a bit more room.

Any Thoughts?

Why not group your perspectives by:

or any other groups you need.

I do have contexts with names like these and perspectives to match, but often they have so many tasks in them that I want different perspectives to slice and dice them in different ways.

Suppose I have a context (or context hierarchy) like "Work/..." or "Home/...". I might have 700+ tasks under Home and a one size fits all perspective doesn't cut it.

As a consequence, I might have perspectives like (not the actual names!):
- Home-Flagged
- Home-Due
- Home-Available
- Home-Sorted-By-Project
- Home-Flagged-And-Sorted-By-Due
etc.

Similarly I have sub contexts under home like Home/Chores that I might also want several different perspectives for.

You can see how the number of useful perspectives can grow quite quickly and a flat list of them becomes quite cumbersome.
