You do have to actually install the button :-)

Save the script in Library/Scripts/Applications/OmniOutliner in your home directory. You'll probably have to create the OmniOutliner folder before you can do so. Now when you launch OmniOutliner, you can click on View->Customize Toolbar... and add the button for the script to your toolbar.

It's definitely not a pro-only feature; I verified it with a copy of OmniOutliner earlier today.
